There is a common assumption that a permanent range must be announced all at once, fully formed from day one. BBA chose the opposite path. With the release of BBA Nº 8 · The Gilded Latitude, Beautifully Brewed Ales Company has officially completed The Grateful Eight — its founding permanent collection.

Eight chapters, released one at a time, each demanding its own attention before the next could begin.

An Unusual Stylistic Distance

The range spans a remarkable stylistic distance: from the cathedral-dark depths of BBA Nº 1 · The Obsidian Vigil, an Imperial Dark Ale at 10.5% ABV, to the delicate effervescence of BBA Nº 7 · The White Solstice, a 3.2% Berliner Weiße brewed with woodruff for the summer season.

Between them sit spiced winter warmers, a precise Altbier, a luminous Weizenbier, a bold IPA, an opulent Imperial Stout, and a genre-defying Weizen IPA. No two chapters share a mood, an ABV, or an occasion — and that variance is precisely the point.

Ales as a signature

Each ale carries the signature of the brewer who created it — a structure more common in winemaking than in brewing, and central to how BBA presents its work. “Eight brewers. One latitude. No compromise” is not just a description of the team, but of the collection itself.

This is not a product line assembled by committee. It is eight individual convictions, brewed under one roof, united by a single uncompromising standard.
